Pupils and teachers are marching to Downing Street and calling for the resignation of education secretary Gavin Williamson after a hectic results day yesterday.

Despite not sitting exams, thousands of students’ results were lowered by Ofqual’s controversial standardisation algorithm.

At the protest, students can be seen carrying signs that say, “G Williamson: Predicted C, Awarded U”, “We deserve better” and “Poor ≠ Stupid”.

Awarded U

We deserves better

These signs are seemingly in relation to the fact that the proportion of A-level grades at grade A and above has risen in independent schools to more than double the rate than in other schools.

The protesters can be heard chanting, “Boris Johnson, fuck off back to Eton.”
