The first 50 schools and colleges to enter the UK Educational Web Site Awards 2002 will receive a range of free software.

The awards, which are run by the educational technology agency Becta and the Guardian, are in their fourth year. Schools and colleges can submit their websites for three main categories - Whole Site Awards, Teaching Resources Awards and Learners’ Awards. All categories include primary and secondary sections.

Judges will be looking for high-quality content, excellent design, user-friendliness and relevance to the target audience.

The closing date for entries is January 31, 2002; the awards ceremony will take place in May. For full competition details, visit the Becta website at www.becta. org.ukwebsiteawards or call the web awards help desk on 024 7641 6994.
