As chair of the UK UNESCO education committee, I was pleased to read about The TES and UNICEF campaign on behalf of the children of Afghanistan. I would like formally to associate our committee with your campaign. We will support it in whatever ways we can.
The absolute priority for UNESCO is primary education for all children within 10 years. Rebuilding the education system in Afghanistan will be an important part of that work.
