How much do schools spend on development, training and resources?

Spending on development and training is relatively similar in proportional terms among the different school types, although local authority (LA) maintained schools tend to spend more on ICT resources than other types of school, and less on non-ICT learning resources.

From 2018, we can see a divergence in spend on development and training between large multi-academy trusts (MATs) and other school types, with the former spending more.

Maintained schools spend less, as a proportion of their budget, on non-ICT resources than other schools; when it comes to ICT resources, the large MATs spend less as a proportion of their budget.
