The other highlight on this year’s conference programme is a four-day feast of visual narrative (Reading Pictures: Art, Narrative and Childhood) on September 1 to 4 at Homerton College, Cambridge with a parallel exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum until October 8. Pictre book artists taking part alongside international academic contributors include Satoshi Kitamura, Jan Pien+kowski, Shirley Hughes and Eric Carle.
