The Diary is glad to report that Tom Bentley, director of the leftish think-tank Demos and former education adviser to David Blunkett, has landed a plum job in Australia. He will be “executive director for policy and cabinet” in the department of Steve Bracks, Labour Premier of the state of Victoria. Mr Bracks has published a paper setting out five key areas for “A Third Wave of Reform”. One is education and training.
