The college sector’s singing principal has added another tune to his catalogue - and this time, Ian Pryce, principal of Bedford College Group, has dedicated his latest work to all those who have had their exams cancelled due to coronavirus.

Stressing his apologies to Sting and The Police, Mr Pryce has released No Exams to the tune of the band’s famous hit Roxanne.

The song joins Here’s to you, Gavin Williamson, Somebody to Love and Justine on the list of FE tribute songs created by Pryce.

Background: GCSEs and A levels cancelled, says PM

The song inspired by coronavirus exam cancellations

No Exams: the lyrics

No exams, you don’t have to put on your bed light
School days are over, no revising through the night

No exams, but your future still looks bright
Assessment using mock scores, let’s hope they get the grading right

No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university
No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university

We have an obligation, to make an estimation
We have to tell you there’s no appeal, have to rank against the other boys
Know how the grades are made up, that awarding bodies take up
Let’s us hope their decisions end in a good way

No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university
No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university

No exam preparation, will there be some grade inflation
Forever more you’ll be known for sure as the Covid kids of 2020
For some of you it’s high stakes
But we hope you won’t need retakes
Sadly it’s the right approach, it’s the best way

No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university
No exams, you’ll be graded A to E
No exams, then it’s university

No exams
No exams
No exams
No exams
No exams
No exams
No exams
No exams
