TES and the THE secure four of the main awards for TSL Education at the 2011 PPA Awards

Between the TES and the THE, TSL Education secured four of the main accolades at the 2011 PPA Awards. TES Connect won Digital Product of the Year, with Gerard Kelly named as Editor of the Year, and the THE won both the Weekly Business Magazine of the Year and Business Media Brand of the Year. The judges were unanimous in their praise:

TES Connect: Digital Product of the Year. The judges said, “The team has continued the innovation of a great product, increased traffic and grown revenues. The Duracell bunny of Digital publishing!”

Gerard Kelly: Editor of the Year. The judges said, “A real attention to the craft, showing enviable mastery across several formats.”

Times Higher Education: Weekly Business magazine of the year. The judges said, “This is an unbelievably good looking magazine and the content is exceptional. Thoroughly deserving of its award.”

Times Higher Education Business Media Brand of the Year. The judges said. “2010 was the year the brand went global. Its extended reach includes digital, social media, tags and campaigning. Truly brave cross-platform publishing that ticks all the boxes.

Ann Thrope was also Highly Commended in the Business Columnist of the Year category.

TSL Chief Executive Louise Rogers said, “This is a truly remarkable achievement for TSL and is testament to all the hard work, determination and drive which everyone in the group has shown over the last few years to maintain the quality of our market-leading print products as well as successfully transforming TSL in to a cutting edge digital business.”

The PPA awards represent a unique opportunity to gain industry recognition for the outstanding achievements during the past 12 months. The awards were presented at a gala awards ceremony on Wednesday 15 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
