The ‘Oscars of education’ return for 2024

The Tes Schools Awards are back!

6 February, 2024

The Tes Schools Awards are back for 2024, where educators across the UK can celebrate their outstanding achievements for the 2022/23 academic year.

The prestigious awards are recognised throughout the UK education community as a key moment in the education year, and an opportunity to shout about the incredible achievements and hard work delivered by professional educators to their students.

Editor Jon Severs for Tes Magazine said;

“Our teachers and schools do so much to drive positive change and education across the UK and it’s right we should celebrate them and their achievements. Judged by some of the best educational leaders in the country, the Tes Awards are an amazing opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and innovation of so many of our teachers and celebrate the best in education.”

Dubbed the ‘Oscars of education,’ last year saw 120 shortlisted nominations and 21 winners from UK state and independent settings invited to a glittering gala at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Last year’s ceremony was also hosted by award-winning TV and film actor James Nesbitt.

This follows on from Tes introducing the inaugural Tes Awards for International Schools, a separate but similar awards programme to celebrate the best of international schools teaching the British curriculum or International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. This has grown Tes’ awards programme to encompass the global education community and further increase the value of the award.

This year, schools and teachers from independent and state schools can nominate in 21 categories from the 6th of February through to the 22nd of March at midnight GMT. Teachers and schools from across the UK can enter.

If you know a school or teacher that has done something worthy of celebration, the Tes Schools Awards are an amazing opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve and share their success with the education community across the UK.
