A fun end-of-term-style activity based on Pokémon Go!
Place the pictures of pokemon around the school. Each pokemon has a unique code. The kids need to go round with their 'gameboy' or 'iphone' template or picture checklist and try to find them all, writing the code to prove they found it. The team with the most pokemon is the winner!
Instructions and all pictures / codes / sheets required are attached.
This is lesson 1 in my Ecology / Ecosystems scheme to suit KS3.
The objective is to learn how to describe different habitats and their organisms
The lesson is differentiated throughout, with each task having a higher and lower ability option. There are 4 tasks in total, including a literacy letter writing activity. There are no practical activities in this lesson, but one is suggested as an optional extra (weather dependent) and there are opportunities for drawing. I would spend two lessons on this one powerpoint, just to ensure the letter and other tasks are completed to a high standard. You could squash it into one.
I have included a basic lesson plan just to outline the tasks, however each task should be clear to understand for both staff and students by viewing the PowerPoint.
This is one lesson in my scheme which can be separately downloaded and includes:
L1: Habitats
L2: Adaptations
L3: Food Chains / Webs
L4: Pyramid of Numbers
L5: Sampling Techniques
L6: Environmental Factors
L7: Bioaccumulation
L8: Air Pollution
Also assessment, spellings, literacy task and homework tasks.
This is lesson 3 in my Ecology / Ecosystems scheme to suit KS3.
The objective is to learn how to describe feeding relationships
The lesson is differentiated throughout, with tasks having a higher / lower ability options. There are 4 tasks in total, including a practical 'make a human food web' using string.

This is lesson 2 in my Ecology / Ecosystems scheme to suit KS3.
The objective is to learn how to describe adaptations of organisms to help them survive.
The lesson is differentiated throughout, with tasks having a higher / lower ability options. There are 4 tasks in total, including a creative drawing task. There are no practical activities in this lesson but are opportunities to draw and be creative.
