The aim is to prepare Y9 pupils for GCSE Geography (particularly the Edexcel B specification) by learning about physical and human aspects of Africa&'s geography with a focus on geographical skills. This is a personal learning checklist (PLC) for the Edexcel B specification. There is a long version, and a short one which can be printed onto a single sheet of A4 (small font size, however!) Can be used for students to plan their revision and also used in class to keep a track of teaching. The page numbers refer to the CGP revision guide for Edexcel B

Please note this is incomplete, but there is an extensive selection of relevant quotes for the following: 1. Narrators (HT); 2. Gender (HT); 3. Science (FrkStn); 4. Revolution (HT & FrkStn); 5. Power (HT); 6. Rebellion (HT & FrkStn); 7. Time (HT). This will save you hours of flicking through your texts to find relevant quotes for comparative analysis. The 6 stages of the fieldwork cycle are represented with a wide array of exam questions, including model answers. You can navigate back to the first slide. This useful A3 knowledge organiser for the fieldwork was used for the River Tillingbourne (in the Surrey Hills) and it covers all of the required knowledge and understanding for 6-stage geographical fieldwork (planning, method, presentation, analysis, conclusion, evaluation). Although this is specific to location, much of it is generic river systems content. This can be used for quizzing, revision, and exam preparation. *Due to its size, this was printed A2

This was a very useful capture sheet for students to work through following their fieldwork experiences in river landscapes and urban areas (Stratford Olympic Park). This file contains TWO pages (only one visible on preview) I have also attached a model of what it should or could look like. This sheet would need to be adapted for each school’s specific fieldwork context, but the knowledge & understanding required for the six phases (planning, method, data presentation, data analysis, conclusion, evaluation) of fieldwork are covered here.

This is a QLA for Edexcel B Geography (new spec). This is very useful in analysing student performance across papers, using conditional formatting and formulae to calculate overall scores and percentages. There is even a formula that can calculate the overall 3+, 4+, 5+ percentages (can be changed depending on grade boundaries). Please contact me if you’d like any advice on how best to use this.

I used this with students by deleting the answers and distributing, for students to then peer/self assess and/or work in groups.
