This is a 29 (hour long) lesson scheme of work for Private Peaceful. Not only are there lessons to follow along with reading the novel, there are also additional war themed lessons to work on both language and literature skills. I used this scheme for Year 8, spanning over two terms. But it could easily be adapted for other year groups. This scheme is complete with a range of assessment lessons. All worksheets are included on the PowerPoints. This resource includes everything you need to teach Private Peaceful.

This is a detailed scheme of work for Jekyll and Hyde. There are over 30 hour long lessons in fully completed PowerPoints. It is based around the Edexcel exam board, but can easily be adapted to any other as the majority of the resource is just learning and understanding the text. There are a variety of context lessons, as well as text analysis lessons. There are also a few lessons linked to other Gothic texts to help understand genre. As well, there are specific assessment lessons throughout. All worksheets and other tasks are included in the PowerPoint.
