DESIGNED FOR MY STUDENTS - remove any details you don't need, e.g. class name, Groups A and B. A workbook for students to complete while doing the core practical on electrolysis of copper sulfate using either graphite or copper electrodes. Includes equipment, safety, method, results, graph, analysis, evaluation and related GCSE questions. Mark scheme for GCSE questions also provided. Aimed at new GCSE 9-1 specification, designed for EdExcel students but I believe the topic is relevant to all courses. In Microsoft Word so easy to edit as necessary and adapt to other practicals. Gaps left in method etc. in order for students to actually engage with the process and think about what they are doing. Can gradually remove support for later practicals and make booklet more limited to encourage progress and development.

Developed to engage a Y12 Physics A-Level group in cost of electricity calculations, but also applies to GCSE Physics specifications for use of power, kilowatt-hours, joules etc. Easy to customise, content was written with my students in mind but very adaptable. Simple table to complete at first, then more challenging questions to complete. I split my class into 3 small groups but could be done individually or in pairs. Answers on the last page.
