This lesson was created in a KS3 scheme of work looking at the Industrial Revolution. It does also include an AQA 8 mark exam question and therefore could be adapted for a GCSE lesson on Health/Medicine in the 19th century. The first 5 slides are the worksheets and I printed out the first two slides double sided and A3 sized. The lesson also includes an extract from a living witness who lived in a back-to-back in the late 1950s, early 1960s. For the task students are to make notes around the picture of what they can see and then summarise the reading in the outer boxes. The aim is to assist in constructing an answer to an 8 mark “how useful” question. I have also included a hidden slide that explains how the hyperlinks work.

This is a year 8 lesson that looks at Edward’s impact on England. It primarily focuses on the reformation and builds towards an AQA GCSE source analysis question. The worksheets are on the first three slides and ideally the main worksheet (slide 1) should be A3 sized. I explain the hyperlinks in the comments of the PPT.

The lesson looks at the reasons why Henry VIII split from Rome. The event is likened to the Brexit so there is scope for the teacher to include current events. Designed for year 8 Tudors but can be adapted for GCSE.

An early lesson for my placement at Lyndon. The students are to discuss whether Boudicca’s actions made her worthy of gaining a statue in London. Includes a 4 mark GCSE question for AQA.

This lesson looks at to what extent Henry VIII was a protestant. It looks at some key events in Henry’s reign such as the Pilgrimage of Grace and his marriages to Anne Boleyn and Anne of Cleaves. The lesson was created for Year 8 looking at the Tudors though could be used for GCSE.
