This little maze is solved by the person finding every multiple of 6 that they can. The route follows the 6 times table up to 72. They can draw a line, shade or colour their route.

Maze passages are timed measures (3 minutes) that measure reading comprehension. Students read Maze passages silently during assessment, so the Maze can be administered to a whole class at one time. The first sentence of the Maze passage is left intact. In the text following the first sentence, every seventh word from the passage is selected to be incorporated into a response item that consists of the original word plus two foils (words that would not make sense if substituted in the passage in place of the original, correct word). These three choices are randomly arranged and inserted back into the text. Why: Capable readers understand the syntax of what they read and the meanings of the words as they are used in the text. Some students with reading difficulties can’t comprehend what they read well enough to choose words based on semantic and syntactic accuracy.A maze reading assessment can identify these students and measure changes in their reading behaviours as the result of instruction or practice.

3 crosswords that use ves or ion at the end of the word. The students solve the clues and can then identify the word from the answer box at the bottom. 5% of letters have been provided to give a little boost.

This crossword style maths puzzle allows pupils to use their knowledge of adding and subtracting to solve the clues and complete the grid.

A classic hexagonal tarsia style puzzle. Students solve the calculations and match the answer to the question. The solution should form a hexagon. Shrink it down and put in their books, blow it up and make it a group puzzle solving activity or just use it for review , consolidation or just for fun.
