KS2 Features of Instructions Worksheet - Fun Activity!

Children love spotting mistakes and silly things when reading! So I made an OVER THE TOP set of instructions on making buttered toast. The children need to cross out the unnecessary words/devices/language included. To extend, you could get the children to write the edited set of instructions into their books. My class really loved this activity - and it really gets the children to understand how to get to the point when writing instructions and not waffling on. I have included answers too! Some may be debatable but that can be discussed as a class. Some of the errors include: Alliteration (not in the title) Similes Rhyming Conflicting adverbs that do not match the imperative verb Fronted Adverbials that are not time conjunctions Adjectives Unnecessary information

A detailed answer to the end of unit question in the Understanding Christianity Creation/Fall Unit in Year 6: ‘Creation and science:conflicting or complementary?’ Having this WAGOLL shared with the children really helped the class write superb arguments showing how much they learned from this unit. Watch this space as I will be uploading my planning of this unit soon. Included is an: Introduction - defining what is meant by creation and science Arguments why creation and science are in conflict Arguments why creation and science can complement one another with an example of a Christian scientist we studied in a previous lesson Conclusion to sum up my ideas and leave a lasting impression I have also highlighted key parts of the argument I wanted my class to include but you can just get rid of that if it does not suit.
