An activity that requires students to look at a variety of written and visual sources about the Eureka Stockade. Questions are there to guide students in examining the sources, before they are required to summarise their learning.

This task is designed as an introduction to the main influential people of the French Revolution. Students are given a leader to research and write a speech about. They then to present this stage to the rest of the class you complete notes in the table. A few leaders have been included, however, obviously more could be Included, depending on the size of your class and requirements of the course. Designed in a similar fashion to the Model United Nations run by UNAA Victoria, this activity places students into the mindset of the Estates-General asking students to come up with demands and negotiate for changes. Included with this resource are both PDF and Word documents allowing you to alter roles or instructions as needed for your class. I use this with my class before discussing what happened at the Estates-General, however, it could also be used after discussing the Estates-General. This is a PowerPoint and accompanying note taking document for covering the following causes of World War I: militarism, alliances and short-term causes. It assumes knowledge of imperialism and nationalism (covered in earlier lessons). The worksheet is great for lower ability students or those who struggle to take notes; however, the PPT can be used without the sheet too.

Used with Year 9, but could be used by any Geography student, to conduct fieldwork in their local area. Students are required to observe, draw maps, sketch and take photographs.

This is an introductory activity to the topic of Federation. This activity gets students to come up with a range of policies for their assigned colony of Ausralia. They are given a brief set of facts about their colony to assist. Answers should be shared with the class and then a discussion about why federation was necessary should follow.
