This is unit of work is comprised of 20 lessons, 60 minutes in duration. Some of the lessons may carry over into a second day depending on speed and ability of class. These lessons address context (for better understanding), language, written techniques, character analysis, themes, symbolism, extract analysis, exam question breakdown, model answers and practise exam questions. This SOW was created to the Edexcel exam board requirements for the 19th Century Novel Literature unit.

This is a PowerPoint presentation that contains 26 lessons, of 60 minute each for the new 9-1 English Language GCSE's. The lessons cover idea generation (with and without visual stimuli), planning, creating effective narrative and descriptive, organising paragraphs, creating interesting openings, writing monologues, writing for a specific audience and purpose, appropriate and effective vocabulary choices, using a range of sentence types for effect, use of a range of punctuation for effect, proofreading skills as well as 2 different practise assessments. This PPT can be differentiated up or down with ease (a few GATE extensions have already been included in the presentation). This SOW was created to the Edexcel exam board requirements.

This resource was created to be adapted to fit any Shakespeare play and can be used for English or Drama, though you may want to adapt some of the assignments to suit Drama better. This assignment addresses all aspects of VAK learning and is a fantastic displayable project. I is best used as an entre unit assignment to be given at the start of the unit with it due in at the end of the unit.
