A 45-minute lesson based on translation of objects on a coordinate grid with the story of Theseus and the Minotaur as a hook. Includes a rapid assessment for learning starter/entry ticket to test understanding of plotting coordinates, exit ticket/plenary to assess understanding, and extension activities including reasoning. Perfect for Maths but could be used to introduce coordinates for Map Reading in Geography too. Ideal for Year 3 and 4, but can be used as a recap for older years. Translation element can be removed to allow younger years to learn about reading coordinates.

45-60 minute lesson introducing Expanded Noun Phrases at a Year 3/4 level. Also useful as a recap for older years. Includes Starter, Plenary (focusing on a common misconception) and Independent Writing (adapted sheet for LA too). Also includes some games with lots of talking involved to verbally embed the rules of Expanded Noun Phrases. Optional: Obtain costumes for the children to wear during a descriptive scenario, or get them to wear their coats/hats/sunglasses. This is not necessary but just adds a fun extra element. I used this lesson for a formal observation and received only positive feedback!

Simple powerpoint for a 45-60 minute English or SPaG/GPS lesson introducing or recaping Subordinate Clauses and Conjunctions. Includes section on Colourful Semantics for differentiation/adaptive teaching but not necessary to know how to use this as it is just to help lower-ability writers build a main clause. Includes starter and plenary. Access to chromebooks/iPads useful but not essential as the powerpoint includes a conjunctions spinner, but this can be used just by teacher and children can choose their own conjunctions. Shrek clip in the powerpoint can be swapped out to relevant class text.

5 x 30 minute lessons with no marking and minimal preparation. Powerpoint displays phonetic pronunciations to support Teacher and Pupil speaking. These 5 lessons will teach children to speak, then read, then write foods in French, based on simple Café foods. Children will also learn how to take an order in French, and how to order food from a waiter in French. All lessons use a powerpoint and an A3 menu resource (which can be kept and reused in each lesson). Only two lessons require additional printing - a matching activity and a wordsearch. The matching activity can be cut out by children.

Lesson 2 - Retelling the Easter story in the modern day (no marking) By the end of the two lessons, children will understand the meaning of Lent and why it is celebrated, why pancakes are cooked on Shrove Tuesday, and will be able to find their own meanings and lessons from the Easter story by retelling it as if it were to happen in the modern day.
