Performance Poetry - Rap KS2

(9)
Used with my Y4/5 class to teach performance poetry through rap. Has lots of links to music videos (the Eminem one needs stopping before it gets violent/sweary!) and really engaged my class. Lots of fun! I don't own copyright to the music or lyrics, but the drum loop IS mine! The last notebook has some cheesy examples of my rap that I wrote for my class. We then dressed up as rap stars and green-screened some album covers, using http://www.graffiticreator.net/ to create our album covers. Will need adapting to your class but should have some good ideas in there.

Ancient Greece: Democracy and Ostracism

Planned for my Y4/5 class, goes into Ancient Greek democracy and ostracism. Has links with British Values too. Contains ppt, worksheets and supporting resources. It does NOT contain the otraska referred to in the ppt - I used bits of broken pots. I got the idea from this from a website that charged for download - it’s a good idea, but the resources were sadly lacking. I made this, based on that lesson idea. Enjoy!

I used this as an introduction to our 'Scream Machine' Cornerstones ILP, but it can also be tied into a forces unit in science. I used this in my year 4/5 class. Not overly engaging, but it can be cannibalised to suit. Children then created a timeline of roller coaster milestones. Hope it helps!

This is a look at how radio and TV have evolved since their invention, and how they have affected people at home. It starts with an extract from The War of the Worlds radio broadcast in 1938, and then goes on to look at how radio was usurped by TV, and the technological advances that happened along the way. It’s been adapted for home learning - the task is a diamond 9 sorting activity of milestones. Hope it’s of some use… *I don’t own the copyright to any of the sound or video files used. Hope that isn’t a problem.
