A lesson which explores the real meaning of Advent. I have used a couple of slides from other powerpoints I have found on here so apologies if I have pinched a couple of your activities!

This feedback sheet will save you from writing the same statements over and over again. Simply tick the boxes on the left hand side to identify which areas students need to work on. You then complete the WWW box and identify a task for students to complete to address any gaps in their learning. There is also a space for students to respond to your feedback. This can also be used as a self assessment tool for students to complete after they have received their mock exam/assessment feedback. This has been designed for the AQA Religious Studies GCSE exam but can be easily adapted for the other exam boards.

A revision workbook that covers the key points for the Christian practices section of the new GCSE RS syllabus. This workbook requires students to answer questions on the following topics: sacraments, baptism, holy communion, prayer, worship, pilgrimage, festivals, growth of Church, Church in local community, persecution and the Church and poverty. The workbook includes key quotes/teachings for students to remember and interpret. It also has revision notes about some of the key Christian organisations/places of pilgrimage etc. At the end of the workbook there is a revision checklist and some practice exam questions for students to complete. This is based on the AQA specification but is also relevant to the other exam boards.

A booklet full of potential GCSE exam questions for Jewish beliefs and Practices. The booklet contains 2, 4, 5 and 12 mark exam questions.

Lesson plan and resouces for a lesson on the design argument. This lesson was carried out over 3 hours (hence the amount of resources!). The textbook referred to is the Matthew Taylor 'OCR Philosophy of Religion for AS/A2&'. I created this lesson for a lesson observation and I received an outstanding grading under the new Ofsted framework.

This lesson forms part of the AQA 9-1 RS GCSE scheme of work on 'Crime and Punishment'. It is the first lesson which I have created using the suggested scheme of work from AQA. This lesson explores the nature of good and evil, the religious responses to good and evil and exam practice exploring the notion of intentions and outcomes. This resource contains the presentation with learning objectives and outcomes. It also has the worksheet and carousel activity resource which forms part of the lesson.

A lesson for the new 9-1 GCSE specification for Citizenship. This PowerPoint covers the difference between these different types of rights and impact of these on people's lives. It has questions, activities and video clips built in and is based around the guidance from Edexcel provided in their scheme of learning. The learning objectives and outcomes include: Learning Objective: To understand the impact and importance of our legal, moral and political rights. Learning Outcomes Bronze: To be able to describe the legal, moral and political rights people have. Silver: To be able to explain how the law is used to protect people’s human rights. Gold: To be able to evaluate how our rights should be safeguarded.

I've adapted an idea from something another teacher who posted on twitter. The idea is you write down the marks students got for each unit and then in the 'what went well&' and &';what to work on' sections you simply choose the corresponding code from the statements on the first page. Students can then respond to your comments in the final box. Very useful for quick and effective assessment feedback after a mock exam.

A lesson for the new 9-1 GCSE Citizenship syllabus for Edexcel. This lesson explains how governments get into power through general elections and voting. It explains the election process and evaluates the impact of democratic rights on individuals and society. This lesson comes with all the activities, video links, mini plenaries, worksheets and homework. The learning objectives and outcomes for this lesson are: Learning Objective: To understand how governments get into power in the UK. Learning Outcomes: Bronze: To be able to describe what a general election is. Silver: To be able to explain how a general election is held. Gold: To compare and evaluate the different voting systems using in the UK.

A lesson covering what social justice is and the issues of social injustice in the UK and across the world. This lesson covers examples of people who have fought against social injustice including Oscar Romero and Christian views surrounding tackling social injustice. Also included in this lesson are the learning outcomes/objectives and exam practice. There are video clips to support activities and opportunities for written/verbal reflection.

Designed for the new 9-1 GCSE Religious Studies specifications. Includes learning outcomes, activities, questions, assessment for learning, video clips and resources. Created to suit a mixed ability group but can be easily tweaked for a lower or higher ability set.

Secondary collective worship resources for an entire year. Each one is designed to last for around 25 mins. Each resource includes quotes and teachings, information, images, video clips, reflective tasks, discussion activities and a prayer. Themes cover national holidays, major events, mindfullness and well-being, academic skills, resilience and more.

A powerpoint with activities and discussion surrounding the use of genetic engineering. This is focused on the non-religious arguments surrounding the debate. This work is specifically linked to the rights and responsibilities unit in the GCSE edexcel specification but it may be relevant to other areas of study. A powerpoint with activities/discussion about the problem of evil and suffering. The textbook activity it is referring to is from the folens 'Religion and Life&' book. In this activity pupils have to summarise the key Christian beliefs and then order them according to which solution to the problem they agree with most.

This lesson is to introduce students to who the Buddha was and the beginning of Buddhism. It is aimed at Year 8 students middle/higher ability students. It was graded as good with outstanding features in a lesson observation.
