Peter and the Wolf and Cluedo! What more could you want?! The children use their knowledge of the musical motifs in Peter and the Wolf to play my bespoke version of Cluedo. To play the game on the white board simply tap on the location and one of the motifs will play. The children write down the instrument, character and location, just like in the original game. It’s a game of deduction to work out which character and instrument they haven’t heard. Those are in the final envelope. This is my morning-starter grid puzzle. Here is a quick introduction video: https://youtu.be/VbpJ8GMDymc Simply, display the puzzle on the white board and then let the children try and work out how many 4 letter words they can find in the grid. They must always use the middle letter somewhere in the word. Once they have finished the game becomes interactive! They can come to the white board one at a time and tap the letters to make one of their 4-letter words. Have they found one of the magic hidden words?! They then move on to do the same task with 5, 6 and 7 letter words. Finally, we have the boss level. Who can work out the only 9 letter word in the grid. I have included everything you need in the pack.

Welcome to Football Sudoku. This is my hand-crafted Football Sudoku game. It works in exactly the same way as original Sudoku. However, in this game we are using football shirts to help represent the numbers, and team names at the side. Place the correct kits in their corresponding box. This makes it a little easier for you to recall what numbers are left. Football and Maths! What more do you need for a morning activity? Here is a quick example video: https://youtu.be/FsoyxKIMYh4 This is my own, hand-crafted morning maths activity. It utilises both manual worksheets for the children and 5 interactive, drag and drop whiteboard games. As children come into class, they will be greeted with a Formation Tactics Board on the Whiteboard. The number on the Goalkeeper’s jersey is the key number. The Defensive formation line is the Subtraction Line, the Midfield is addition and the Attack is division. The students have to make sure each line equals the same amount as the number on the GK jersey. Once they have completed their sheets they can have a go at the interactive game on the whiteboard.

In this video the children explore Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Firstly the students are introduced to the characters and their accompanying musical instruments. Then, they get the chance to test their knowledge by having a go at the attached worksheets. Finally, the children explore the music of Prokofiev further, by attaching their own character to each piece of music. Also there is an opportunity for the students to create their own short piece of motif music.

This video introduces the children to Dynamics. We explore a quiet woodland area and then a noisy jungle. From a timid mouse to a ferocious dinosaur! The children will learn how to use simple music theory. On the worksheets attached the children have to match the sound to the dynamic. Finally, we listen to 3 classical pieces of music and try to fit the correct dynamic to each section.

The children explore the Orchestra, in this fun, interactive music lesson. The students are introduced to the four families of the Orchestra. The Strings, The Woodwinds, The Brass and the Percussion. They hear instruments from each section. The students then take part in a cut and stick exercise, where they have to stick the correct instrument into it’s matching orchestral family.

This video delivers a full lesson on Tempo that can be used for a large range of age groups. There is something for children from KS1 all the way up to KS3. We explore Italian, musical phrases such as Adagio and Lento. Using both classical and modern pop music an examples. The children then try to work out Tempos of music, using BPM on an app or browser.

Following on from learning Music Notes and Note lengths (see my earlies videos) the children now learn how to fill a bar consisting of four beats. They create their own four beats bars using semibreves, minims, crotchets, quavers or semi-quavers.

Here I teach subtraction through a fun song. The children will listen to the song first, then have a go themselves. We will then sing a further subtraction together. Finally, the children will get to try their own subtractions with the song. There are ten more to try in the uploads.

Hello. this is my brand new Christmas songs written for Primary Schools in 2024. It’s called ‘Drummer Boy’ and uses simple British Sign Language alongside it’s lyrical feel. There is an exciting build and crescendo towards an ending using three parts. I hope you enjoy it.
