Simple pictures of Florence's life for the children to sequence. My lower ability year 1/2's sequenced then discussed while the more able wrote a sentence to go with each picture.
We used a3 strips of coloured paper for the children to stick their sequenced pictures on to.
You could adapt by adding dates etc...
Couldn't find a decent version myself so made my own...hope it's helpful!
My year 1's loved writing their own version and acting it out. I have left gaps for the children to write their own ideas and describing words.
Have fun!
A useful spreadsheet for analysis of both paper 1 and 2 of the 2016 sample reading SAT paper.
Enter the score for each question and the spreadsheet works out the percentage for each of the assessment foci (as given in the mark scheme that goes with the papers).
Accommodates a class of up to 30 but can be edited.
Colour coded to make it easier to see the assessment foci at a glance.
We used this in our mixed year 1 and 2 class after hotseating the enormous crocodile. I also created a template for my LA group (also on here).
I was really impressed with some of the responses the children came up with and they really enjoyed it!!!
