Circuit Boards Activity for use with AQA and Edexcel GCSE Combined Science Courses This contains: Circuit symbol cards, which can be matched with their names Cards on the uses of some of the circuit symbols (thermistor, variable resistor, LDR, LED and diode) to match with their diagrams / names Cards on the resistance of some of the circuit symbols (thermistor, variable resistor, LDR and diode) to match with their diagrams / names Series and parallel circuit ‘boards’ with a number of circuit symbol cards that can be cut out and added to the boards to make up series and parallel circuits. A number of Series and Parallel Circuit clue cards with circuits to make up and then questions to test the pupil’s knowledge of these two types of circuit and how current, potential difference and resistance changes in parallel and series circuits. There are also a couple of cards about the function and usage of voltmeter and ammeters. Lastly each of the sections has answers at the bottom. Attached as a PDF file but also as a word document which can be downloaded and altered as required

Developed for the new OCR A2 Biology course Module 6.3.2 – Populations and Sustainability e) - the management of environmental resources and the effects of human activities Includes: Antartica, Masai Mara, Peat Bogs, Snowdonia, the Lake District as well as the Terai region in Nepal. Book pages refer to the Oxford University Press Textbook (A Level Biology for OCR - A; Year 2) I also used video clips from David Attenborough's Galapagos Series (Lonesome George) and his Africa series (small sections on elephant underpass, bush meat and Masai tribesmen saving Lions and working alongside them).

For the A2 OCR Biology Module 6.3.2 – Populations and Sustainability Specifically, 6.3.2 c - The reasons for, and differences between, conservation and preservation The starter (included) saw each student sharing the information on extinct animals The students then split into groups with 1 from each group becoming an expert on either the social, economic, ethical or further reasons for conservation. These experts then had 2 minutes each to feed back to their group. There are 2 word documents (Conservation vs Presentation) and Conservation notes to go with this. Any text book pages refer to the A-Level Biology for OCR book (A - Year 2) by Oxford University Press.

These are from the revised 2016-2018 Cambridge syllabus. NB - Page numbers are for 'Biology for IGCSE' (G. Williams - 2009) & 'Biology For You' (G. Williams - 2002). I will use them for the yr 10 & 9 groups that I will be teaching from September 2014 (NOT THE YEAR 11 GROUPS - on the old syllabus). The Cambridge IGCSE syllabus (0610) has recently changed. Teachers syllabus - uses colours to show added, changed, removed content etc. The other 2 syllabuses are for the students, the yr 9 one since we start teaching the IGCSE syllabus in yr 9. Hope they are useful.

The topics are not extensive (i.e. not all of the specification), but was enough to fill 2 hours of revision sessions (which I broke down into 4 parts) and covered all of the points that either came up regularly or that students needed to work on. Most questions have answers included. I also printed out some slides and provided a number of the longer answer questions as print outs. I've attached some of the sheets I used, for examples the electrolysis sheets. Most images and questions are from AQA past papers. Most information is from said questions or the AQA Additional Science C2 Spec.

Used this for AQA B2 revision today, but can also be used for years 9 - 11 lessons. Pictures mainly from past papers. I also included notes on a power point, which I will upload as well. Instructions for a year 9 SEND pupil on how to carry out a chromatography investigation. Using felt tip pens and water as the solvent Boxes really helped the SEND student to following the instructions. I projected the instructions on the board for other students to follow, after demonstrating how the practical is carried out.
