Social Skills

(0)
This social skills pack will help with Autistic students and in one-to-one interactions with any students who have difficulty with interaction and communication. I have worked with Autistic students for fourteen years as a Teaching Assistant and SENCO and developed these interactive resources to assist them. They work as prompts to help you as a Teaching Assistant get to know your students, find out what is on their minds in terms of friendships, emotions, home and school life. There are a couple of worksheets as well on communication and turn taking for secondary students. I found that a lot of resources on this were for Primary students and so made these myself. There is a short explanation of what it might mean to have an Autism diagnosis, so that you can talk that through with your students.

Mental Health and Well-being Resources

(0)
Mental health and well-being resources. These resources work well with students with autism or anxiety on a one-to-one pastoral basis, but would also work for group sessions or lesson plans for PSHE. I am an English teacher with over 15 years experience of working with SEND and anxious teens as a Teaching Assistant and SENCo. These are my resources from those years. The resources work as posters, interactive worksheets or prompts for discussion. They cover calming breathing techniques, affirmations, up-to-date tools for self-care, achieving a calm state of mind and building resilience. They have helped numerous students to achieve self-confidence and self-knowledge to improve their mental health. 25 individual resources can be used separately or as a scheme of work which could extend to 50 sessions.
