AQA GCSE English Literature Marking Feedback Sheets (In Line With Mark Scheme)

(20)
UPDATED TO FOLLOW CHANGE TO A02 IN MARK SCHEME Follows the AQA GCSE English Literature mark scheme Feedback sheets that I designed to make giving feedback on essays more straightforward and less time-consuming. It also gives students a clearer understanding of the mark scheme and how the levels work - much more specific than simply writing a number on students’ work. Just print out and staple onto essays/ stick in books. I hope this is useful! NOTE: This resource contains three different feedback sheets: Section A from Lit papers 1 and 2, including marks for A04 (Shakespeare/ Modern text) Section B from Lit Paper 1 (19th Century text) Section B from Lit Paper 2 (Comparative poetry)

HOW TO STRUCTURE A BOOK REVIEW

(1)
An A4 sheet that explains to students the structure of a book review and what to include in each paragraph. A great home-learning task to encourage students to keep reading and reflect on their reading. I made this for KS3 students as a SPaG homework task. However, this could also be used for KS2 and KS4 students. PDF version as well as editable Word version so that you can edit to meet the needs of your students.

Desert Island - KS3 Creative Writing Mini-Unit - Set of Four Lessons A well-designed and highly-engaging set of four creative writing lessons. Perfect to use with students in the final weeks of term or as part of a related scheme of work (such as survival topics). Students will create a character who is embarking on a journey. However, following a plane crash, the character ends up stranded on an island. They will continue writing about the character’s experiences on the island. Lessons are well-structured (including starters, lesson objectives, guidance on writing) and ready for you to use immediately. Students will write the story in four chapters. As they write each chapter, they are given guidance on what to include as well as tips on how they can use language techniques to develop their writing. Journey to Another World: Fun KS3 Creative Writing Mini-Unit (Set of Four Lessons)

Four fun and engaging space-themed creative writing lessons. Perfect to use in the final weeks of term. Lessons can be used with a variety of KS3 classes. I have used them with both a middle-ability year nine set and a low-ability year eight set. With both classes, the lessons were a real success - students were fully engaged, even continuing with the project at home by choice! Students will be leading a mission to a newly-discovered planet. Tasks include: writing a newspaper article about the discovery of the planet; writing a scene where you must leave your loved ones; writing a letter to NASA about your first 24 hours on the planet; and writing a story about an encounter with an alien creature.
