A 53 page booklet for costume design candidates at GCSE or A-Level to ensure they are covering all aspects of Costume, Hair and Make Up Design. This booklet covers all aspects in regards to planning and evidencing the creation process of a design unit. This costume design booklet can be printed on A4 or A3 depending on need of student. There is a glossary at the back of the booklet with all key terms that should be used in the portfolio to ensure those high marks. The booklet will need guidance from teacher to support the student in completing the booklet to ensure they are clear on the expectations of each of the pages.

A 12 lesson scheme of learning with power points, homework tasks, reflection worksheets and embedded videos/music to support the learning journey over the 12 weeks of the scheme. Silent movies is a scheme that looks at the drama techniques mime, melodrama, slapstick comedy, still images, stage combat, use of music in mime performance and placards. It accumulates to a full performance using stock characters and a typical narrative to create an assessment that supports and shows embedded learning through the 12 lessons. Lesson 10 does not have a power point as a rehearsal lesson this is up to the teacher to create at their discretion or skip this lesson if playing catch up with the scheme. This scheme does not include any cover work.

Three resources: Teaching Powerpoint Carousel Resource with each Stage Type example and positive/negatives of the stage type - can be differentiated based on group. Printout of the designs of the Stage Types to be cut out and placed in portfolios or books depending on preference. This is aimed at Year 10 at the start of their GCSE course. This lesson could be stretched over two hours but could fit into one hour depending on the class of students and their abilities. Some examples of the theatres that are used are for the area we live in so you might want to swap out the theatres for examples closer to your school.

Under Unit 1 of the WJEC/EDUQAS Drama GCSE there is the compulsory element of writing an evaluation of performance. This resource is for preparation of learners in writing their evaluation under examination conditions and a supportive mechanism for those weaker literacy learners who choose Drama for their love of creativity and performance.
