This is the first lesson within the Ethics unit of Life and Death. The aim of this lesson is to introduce (or reintroduce) students to different religious creation stories alongside the theories of evolution and the Big Bang. If we can understand our own beliefs of how life came into being, then how does this reflect on our beliefs about life and its value? There are video links included and all tasks are differentiated (colour coded) to help with students progress.

Crime. This resource has been designed with differentiation in mind and includes a range of activities such as videos and literacy work. The focus of this double lesson is crime with reference to recent statistics taken from the National Statistics database. Topics including causes of crime, sin and types of crime are included. The aim is to lead students into the area of study with an understanding of differing views on the subject. The activities are colour coded to match the objectives so that students understand the progress that is being made throughout and promotes an element of independence. The plenary uses a video clip that links in young people and crime.

This is an introductory lesson on the topic of crime and deviance. The second slide has the instructions in the notes sections and worked extremely well with my Year 10 students when asked which act was the worst and why. This was taken from a student teacher who had observed the activity when visiting a prison education system. There are also videos and differentiated activities to help to support learning.
