I have put this short calculator guide together for teachers and tutors to guide students on purchasing calculators for A-Level or SQA Maths exams; the use of calculators in exam centers is controlled by JCQ rules as shown in the guide. Prices shown are typical for new devices, savings can be made by buying second hand.

EM Radiation workshop for juniors

(0)
A practical demonstration of radiation physics awareness for junior school students. Using commonly available sources of UV (lamps and torches), together with fluorescent materials, allowed me to plan and present an interactive activity for primary school students. This is safe and fun and very educational as not many resources of this nature are around. It requires a good knowledge of the physics of the Sun and EM radiation as well as applicable health-physics- suited mainly to science classes in primary schools is easily upgraded to high-school student participation or astronomy clubs and such. Contact myself for any technical information. PS will be adding Thermal Imaging diagnostics with suitable InfraRed camera!
