Ideal for GCSE preparation or Private School entrance exam preparation. This is also a great resource for home schooled children or parents wanting to help their child expand their vocabulary. Each week, there are 3 challenges. Challenge 1 gives the student four words to define. They can do this using the internet, a dictionary or any other means. Challenge 2 is to have a discussion with an adult and record it. Challenge 3 is to write about something they have read this week.

Easy to use and easy to adapt, I have created 39 different word grids. These are a simple starter activity that can be used as an ice breaker, extension task, plenary. Students need to find as many words as they can within the grid. You choose the time limit. Grids come in 4x4, 5x5 and 3x5 which can be used in order or at random. Each has been designed so there are plenty of words to be found, and no naughty words either! Enjoy.
