This is a package of three resources, a powerpoint, work booklet and answer booklet. This is a resource designed to help teachers and students with music theory in preparation for GCSE and A level Music exams. The work booklet is separated into two sections; Theory and Terminology. The first section focuses on the music theory aspect. It is styled in a Learn, Practice, Test format that allows students to work through material at their own pace, practicing then applying the skills and knowledge learnt. This takes students through six chapters; Reading and Writing Music 1, 2, Accidentals and Scales, Key signatures, Degrees of the scale and Intervals and Chords. This side of the work booklet is supported by an answer booklet for students to either self-mark or teachers to use for speeding up marking. The second section focuses on the terminology needed for WJEC A level music. It takes the list of suggested terminology and defines each term, with a supporting example. These terms are divided by element into seven chapters, each with a test section at the end for students to apply learning. This is aimed at A level students, but with so much cross-over and mixed ability at GCSE, is also aimed to be tailored for the ability level of the student, giving room for MAT students to expand their knowledge and LAT students to develop. This area of the booklet is supported by a powerpoint that goes through all the same terminology with further links to youtube videos for teachers to support the learning in the booklet.
