This Scheme is aimed at key stage 3 -specifically for year 8 but would be suitable for year 9 as well. There are 6 sessions but this could be adjusted for your needs. The scheme uses sections of the play to explore the notion of the autistic spectrum and how we are all different. It is a very practical scheme that involves Frantic Assembly exercises and Physical Theatre ideas. It could however be adjusted to be suitable for Social distancing lessons. You will need a copy of the play to use this scheme effectively.

Explores prejudice-This Scheme is aimed at year 9 students but could be suitable for year 8. It is based around the play Face by Benjamin Zephaniah and Richard Conlon. It explores the play ‘Face’ through a variety of practical exercises and tasks. It could be suitable for socially distant drama lessons with some adjustment. The Scheme uses sections of the script rather than the students reading the whole play. It is essentially making the students consider how we treat people with differences- Facial Discrimination and prejudice is its main theme. It makes them consider the importance we place on looks and how we are quick to judge others. The scheme touches on a variety of dramatic techniques and will help create a solid foundation for students possibly taking GCSE Drama.

This scheme explores elements of the play Butcher Butcher burning bright by Mark Wheeler. It is aimed at year 8 and is a practical scheme which could be adjusted for social distancing lessons. It focuses both on the story of Molly who becomes trapped in a fire - in school and dies, but also on the range of techniques the playwright uses to tell the story. It has links to clips on you tube and has both humorous sections and challenging darker elements. It is 6-7 sessions but could be adjusted.

This scheme looks at how monologues can be used to create depth to a drama piece. Using an original script the scheme has the monologues embedded into the powerpoint to ease up resources. It would be useful with a GCSE group especially when introducing the devised work. It could also be used as a year 9 scheme. The monologue scripts could be used as stand alone for performance work or the suggested scheme could be followed to explore the nature of the effectiveness and purpose of monologues. The scheme also explores how they can be delivered successfully in an engaging and meaningful way.

A short and lighthearted version of the nativity with a very much modern twist. Originally written for a Christmas concert, it was delivered in sections . It has over 20 named parts but could be done with any number . It is written for ages 11 and above but could be used with year 6. In it’s entirety it is about 25 mins long but could be expanded. It could be used for a Christmas assembly or just classwork. This is an original Panto written a few years ago for a school performance. It has over 30 named parts and can be edited and adjusted to accommodate contemporary references and songs etc. It is based around the X Factor using interpretations of Traditional Panto and Nursery rhyme characters. It is funny, lighthearted and can be used in its entirety for a performance or just edited sections for class work. It has no music with it but does name pop songs that were used originally in the performance.
