This is a Practice paper for Section A of the Edexcel GCSE Exam. This paper has been written by looking at all previous papers and compiling a paper which is in line with the current format and level of questions. It includes an audio file which has the dictation (it is unfamiliar rather than a set work dictation) although i am unable to load on TES. This is an effective carol that gradually builds up in parts to a tear jerking ending! Pupils love singing it and it’s written to be simple to sing but sounds complicated with parts overlapping.

This scheme of work is over 4-6 lessons for KS2 and provides worksheets and lessons plans to explore Mars from The Planets. The style of teaching is to draw out the musical knowledge from pupils and over a few lessons explore time signatures, ostinatos, musical element words etc. This is a fun unit of work and my pupils have always loved it.
