Mathematical Wordsearch 2 - Two variations

(0)
Inject some literacy and discussions around mathematical terminology into your lessons with this - a 19x19 grid filled with 95 mathematical words to find. Two variations included: one with a list of words to find and one without. The terminology focuses mainly on the GCSE specification, but is accessible to students from all ages. This wordsearch and the previous one (check my TES shop) have very little overlap. One worksheet with 8 puzzles, aimed at getting students used to the inequality signs and developing their problem solving skills. I thought this was a new idea - it turns out this is called Futoshiki (roughly translating to “more or less”) if you want more. Circle Theorems Uno Card Game Match Up Activity

(0)
40 cards, each illustrating multiple circle theorems. Play a game of Uno, where cards are placed only if the card on the table and the card in your hand both show the same circle theorem. There are 8 special cards to spice things up. Or use the cards in a different way (see the first page of the document). Promotes discussion. Develops fluency with circle theorem statements. Develops students ability to recognise which circle theorem can be applied, given a diagram. There are no calculations with these cards. Radian Protractors - Print out / Overlay

(0)
Transparent PNG images of radian protractors to print out on acetate and use to measure angles, or embed them within presentations. Two variants included to suit your style of teaching. Markings are either unit fractions of a half turn or fractions of pi. Students work with degrees for a decade but only a few months with radians. I use these to help students build confidence with radians, in particular, estimating angles in degrees and radians, then measuring to determine accuracy. Radians Angle Chase #1 Worksheet and Solutions

(0)
An angle chase worksheet where students work in radians to find all missing angles. Angles are to scale, allowing year 12 and 13 students to get a feel for the size of angles written in radians. The intended idea behind the task is for students to discuss their thought process as they find angles, without ever mentioning degrees. For example, the angles in a triangle add up to Pi radians.
