Digital woodworking lesson pack. An adult prepares or orders the wooden parts before class. No physical kit is supplied or shipped. The clamp includes written instructions and drawings only; no clamp video. One English-subtitled catapult video is included. Use a fully cured demonstration model for testing; children’s glue-ups may need to finish curing after class. WHO IT IS FOR For teachers, clubs and homeschool groups. Two adult-led lessons in English for ages 7-11; adapt tasks to individual readiness. WHAT CHILDREN PRACTISE Clamp: sequence layered parts, dry-fit moving joints, align edges, apply a thin glue layer and clamp a glue-up. Catapult: identify a frame, lever and axle; investigate elastic-powered motion and compare launches using a light, soft paper ball. LESSON TIME Wooden clamp: 45 minutes. Desktop catapult: 60 minutes. Timings are lesson-plan estimates; full glue/finish curing is additional. PREPARATION TIME Planning estimate: 20-30 minutes per lesson to check and lay out ready-made kits and tools for 6 children; not a measured time. Make and test a sample before first use. Ordering, cutting, drilling, trial assembly and glue/finish curing take additional time. TOOLS AND SUPPLIES TO HAVE For the sessions: safety glasses, P120/P180 sanding blocks, pencil and millimetre ruler, wood glue, glue brushes, wipes and two serviceable clamps per active glue-up. Also prepare a demonstration quick-release clamp, smooth wood block, a cured catapult model, soft paper balls and a target with a backstop. BEFORE CLASS: ADULT PREPARATION An adult or local workshop cuts the shaped clamp parts, cuts and drills the catapult parts, adjusts fits and checks axle retention. If making parts yourself, use a suitable profile-cutting process, drilling equipment, clamps/fixtures and dust control. Power tools are not needed at the children’s assembly tables when parts arrive ready to use.
