Colour and its effect on us

I accompany the PPP with music for a wow factor. I use oh happy day from sister act and Madonna - Vogue. This PPP justifies why a particulat colour is chosen in a picture or design - and not just because it looks pretty.

This is brilliant resource that uses STEM to cross curriculum with science. It is a full scheme of work with 20 lessons, including some great starters, design nets for aeroplanes, perspective, rendering, colour theory etc. Please let me have your feedback and I hope you will find this useful. Thanks

This is a clear and user friendly visual step-by-step teaching resource to teach KS3/KS4 how to draw a catapult in 3rd angle projection using Powerpoint. It includes a plan, front elevation and side elevation with sizes that will fit onto A4 sized paper. This resource is ideal to set students up ready for GCSE resistant materials or graphic design, which requires students to draw a plan of their project using orthographic projection before making it, This resource differentiates through provision of a sound understanding for lower ability students and also extension tasks for those students who are high ability.

This is a successful scheme of work that I have used to introduce year 9 to graphic design. There are some resources missing, but most of them are here. It teaches students a wide range of aspects used in graphic design with success shown in their achievement and chioce of Graphic design in their options selections.

A simple introduction to crank linkages. Students cut out the templates, which are printed out on card. They they fasten them together using paper fasteners then fix them to the other side of the card with paper fasteners, to see how each mechanism work. This can be an extension of my other resource, how to make an automaton

This test was designed to follow the power point presentation given to a class of KS students. I used it to assess their learning. They were allowed to to work in pairs to encourage peer tuition and marked each others work. This supports STEM through introducing science.

Drawing and cutting list that students can easily follow to make an automaton. Note, the cams needs to be placed off centre to the cam follower, to ensure that the cam followers turn around as well as well as go and and down. The characters are glued on card and laminated, then a groove is cut in the wooden block for them to sit in.

How to use a vernier scale

(0)
Large visual scale on word Very easy to explain how it works Opportunity for class participation to write down on the board what the measurement has been set to. I devised this myself through necessity. It allows a teacher to show a large class at one time how a slide rule or vernier scale works. Just highlight the adjustable scale to move into position. Please leave feedback regarding what you think.
