A worksheet to practice Averages - Mean and Range, in a range of real life settings. I originally created them for Functional Skills students to practice at Level 1, but it cold also be used for GCSE students as well.

A worksheet designed to get students working out Mean and Range and also reading a line graph for some of the information. Students must also decide what their answers mean for their Mean and Range. Could be used for Functional Maths or GCSE Maths.

This is ideal for either Functional or GCSE practice in conversions. Students must fill in all parts of the table and complete whatever conversions are needed. The first sheet, covers most basic fractions etc, while the second, challenges their knowledge to deal with more complex amounts. Answers are included for both sheets.

This game was inspired after seeing the way different maths questions using fractions and percentages were presented in different exam papers. It includes finding percentages of an amount, addition and subtracting with money and also being able to understand questions asked in words, as well as numbers. The game can be used for different levels of students and easily adapted for different groups, including GCSE and Functional Maths.

This game is based on the ‘Strike It Lucky’ game. Students make a choice and answer a question to win points. The game can be used for lots of different subjects as a fun way of checking what learning has taken place, or how comfortable the students are with a particular technique. All you need are the game cards and a set of questions on your chosen subject. I’ve also included some simple fraction questions to use with the game, as well as some helpful hints. Enjoy!
