This booklet is an introduction to algebra. A booklet containing seven lessons for a year 7 class. I have included a second file that is identical but with the "Year 7" removed for those who want to use this with other year groups. However this is an introductory unit so does NOT include expanding brackets, factorising, quadratic equations or graphing. This is NOT fully differentiated. However, a file has been included with the booklet I used for my higher ability students, where some questions have been changed. This is very similar to the other booklets with only a few questions changed and one exercise added. Two versions have been included, one using the word "maths" as in the UK and Australia and the other using the word "math" as in the US. Please note that this resource does NOT include answers.

Lessons and worksheets to go with the book, “My Friend Jake has Autism.” The book is narrated by a friend and talks about how autism affects Jake at school and at home. “My Friend Jake has Autism.” explains autism in a simple way. While it explains the difficulties encountered by a child with autism, it recognizes that all children with autism are different. This book is designed to enable classmates to understand a child in their class that is different. They can discuss it with the attention being on Jake rather than their classmate. These lessons help students consider what they have learned in the book about autism and consideration for others as well as reinforcing English language concepts such as verbs and synonyms.
