A fun activity for my class while I could assess various skills. It is quite a simple recipe and so independent working and presentation skills were the main objectives.

Can they guess the utensil and spell its name correctly. Quick starter/plenary.

Powerpoint to accompany a demo and a worksheet that can be used as a starter. The map of Italy links in to where risotto rice is grown, the other slides give examples of variations to the basic recipe. Have used this with year 8 but also with GCSE Catering for the international menu task.

I use this recipe for an end of term treat and as its so simlpe the class can follow the powerpoint. This makes 2 trays full so is ideal to make in pairs. Now with recipe sheet and amended powerpoint.
