A lesson which is designed for a year 9 to show them how to explore structural features for English Language Paper 1 AQA. Designed with the SAMS Carrie’s War paper (text also attached from AQA). it encourages students to use the key words ‘Focus’, ‘Changes’ ‘Contrasts’, ‘Develops’ and ‘Continues’ whilst responding to the text. Each page has space where pupils can make notes on their book, an activity, and the opportunity to select a 'quote of the week' or new words. Students can fill in the pages whilst they are reading, and at the end of the lesson. I have incorporated a diverse range of activity to help engage students in the consideration of ideas and issues explored within the texts they are reading, and is designed to promote independence.
