Year 1 - Using capital letters for proper nouns lesson 1. Children look at sentences and decide if it has a capital letter for the proper noun or not. Following on, they then read sentences and correct the error by writing the capital letter for the proper noun. Scaffolded resources given. Children would probably need a capital letter formation mat in front of them to support in your chosen handwriting scheme. Could be used as 1 lesson or 2 separate lessons.
