Lesson moving students on from expressing operations using function machines to using algebraic notation

A lesson introducing angles around a point, on a straight line and vertically opposite angles but would need additional questions from a worksheet or textbook for students to work through independently.

Lesson on HCF, LCM that start with listing and then moves onto large numbers needing the prime factor decomposition. A video on how cicadas use prime numbers to achieve a high LCM in nature and a clapping activity to reinforce the idea of what an LCM is.

Lesson using Prime Climb's colourful prime factor decomposition which can be used to look at primes, factors, multiples, squares, cubes, etc. I would recommend printing the last slide and handing to students.

Revision material covering a lot of the content to do with averages.

A lesson on order of operations which stays clear of using any acronyms (BIDMAS, etc) to avoid misconceptions where students add before they subtract for example.

A recap lesson on estimation and rounding numbers. Additional questions may be needed, I used a textbook whilst the students worked independently during the middle part of this lesson.

This was my first lesson of the Edexcel statistics part of the AS maths course. You will need to think creatively about how to best go through the different types of samples. We divided the group up into pairs and got them to just focus on one. We even acted some out. After engaging with some of these I gave them the notes document to refer to during the lesson and to fully digest in their own time. Please deliver in your own way and let me know what works well.

Bit of a mix and would definitely need sorting for your class but contains roughly two lessons worth of content going from introducing how to calculate averages from a table and how to do it for grouped data.
