It follows the Revisit – Teach – Practise – Apply structure and is ideal for whole‑class teaching, small‑group work or targeted intervention. Suitable for pupils working within Letters and Sounds Phase 3. Revisit Children revise previously taught GPCs: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qu, sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure. Teach Introduce the new phoneme **er **with actions. Tricky word focus: her. Practise Children practise reading real and pseudo words using Buried Treasure (PhonicsPlay link included). Word list: her, hammer, letter, ladder, supper, dinner, better, summer, farmer, shorter, longer, powder. Apply Pupils read and discuss sentences containing the new phoneme: I got a letter from a farmer. My ladder was much longer than her ladder.
