Week 1 - Predictions and Newspaper report alongside reading chapters 1 - 6 Week 2 - Instruction writing for making the raft alongside reading chapters 7 - 11 Week 3 - Blackout poetry and interpreting a text alongside reading chapters 12 - 16 All planning and notebook files.

An English workbook focusing on five different aspects of English, one per week. There are 5 questions per day: Week 1 - Ordering sentences. Week 2 - Correcting capital letters and full stops. Week 3 - Adding the correct punctuation - full stops, question marks and exclamation marks. Week 4 - Inserting commas. Week 5 - verbs. I used as an early morning workbook but could be used as an intervention. Includes steps to success, assessment, feedback and next steps.

Definitions of words taken from War Horse, set out by chapter and page number. I created this as some of the children in my class were struggling with understanding what some of the words meant. Can also be used for dictionary work and synonyms.

Looking at the features of a prayer for the children then to write their own.

A notebook file looking at making a prediction on the front covers of the book Boy Overboard with an activity of making predictions from pictures beforehand. After reading the first chapter, the children then write another prediction, based on what they have heard/read.
