A standalone lesson on The Handmaid’s Tale as part of a wider Dystopian Fiction Unit aimed at Year 9. This resource is delivered after an introduction to Dystopian Fiction where students understand the tropes and have looked at other novels and short stories, and encourages students to consider the wider authorial intentions when it comes to dystopian fiction. An extract is used for the main activity to identify quotations and how they present the themes discussed.
