Ukrainian phrases for primary & early years

These phrases are exactly what you need if you are working with young children. Learn your favorites, whether that is good boy and good girl, copy me, do you need the toilet or let’s call home. These are the things that early years and primary teachers find themselves saying repeatedly, and you will recognize the clear, direct and kind things you say to children every day. I have been able to put this work together quickly because I had already written the phrases to help teachers in the United States who were welcoming monolingual Spanish speaking children into their classrooms. All I needed to do was put those phrases into Ukrainian, and I did this with the help of two Ukrainian teachers. Alexandra is responsible for the major proof-reading and corrections, and Viktoria has read the phrases aloud. Watch the video-book on YouTube. It is less than half an hour, and you can make your own notes on how to pronounce the things you want to learn first. If you have monolingual Ukrainian speaking children in your classrooms you will be using Google Translate or similar … you might be lucky enough to have an adult who can help with the language working with you. My hope is that this phrasebook will give you another little tool to help you build those connections and relationships that you need with every child you work with. Thank you. Dyakuyu.

Ukrainian lessons for English speakers

(0)
Aimed at year 5 and upwards, these simple lessons present 4 or 5 Ukrainian phrases each. The idea is to develop an increased understanding of how Ukrainian people feel having to learn English, and to begin to learn Ukrainian so that we are able to offer a warmer welcome. The pre-made PDF resources mean that all you have to do is play the video and learn with your class. Each lesson takes 10 to 15 minutes, and there is a new one released each week. Please contact me, ruth@spanglishfantastico.com if there is anything else I can do to support you. I would love to hear from you if you are learning Ukrainian with your English speaking students. Thank you.
