I have created a baseline assessment on entry to Reception, because I struggled to find a baseline assessment that matched the new Development Matters document. Therefore, I have used Development Matters, July 2021 to create this document and to look at what we would expect children to be doing when they enter Reception in September, to be 3-4 years secure. I hope this resource helps you too!

‘How many children in this area’ signs
After attending a Maths course, they suggested making signs for the children that had the number, but also different ways to represent that number.
I used these signs last year and it worked really well. Children knew exactly how many children could play in a certain area.
Pack includes:
2 children in this area
3 children in this area
4 children in this area
5 children in this area
6 children in this area
7 children in the area
8 children in this area
I created these pages and then made them into a book (attached with a keyring). It stays in our Understanding the World area for the children to access.
