This unit of work was taught as part of the cross curriculum topic, linked to Anglo-Saxons. The children studied Kandinsky as an artist before exploring the different palettes, creating their own Anglo-Saxon inspired helmets in style of Kandinsky using their chosen palette. A full plan, slides, resources and LKS2 specific starter activities for a non-chronological information text on spiders. Children produced amazing end of week posters/double spreads based on this meeting the LKS2 writing expectations. Slides are interactive and come with differentiated resources. End goal is for children to research and complete their own independent report on their chosen spider type. Resources include research packs for children should they not have access to ipads or computers. A one off lesson on Viking inspired kenning at the end of the week.

Detailed planning following DT process to create a suitable packaging for Anglo Saxon biscuits. I have successfully used this planning in LKS2 but can be adapted for UKS2 too. The planning comes with very detailed slides (showing step by step instructions) as well as differentiated resources from start to finish.
