A lesson all about Paris, designed for a low ability Y7 group but could also work for Y6 or Y8 as a recap. It has been planned for remote learning but it could easily be adapted for classroom teaching, but might still need access to computers or iPads. A full lesson based on the French Revolution and Les Miserables, designed to be taught as a pre-cursor to watching Les Mis but could be taught as a stand alone cultural lesson. Starts with a true or false activity about Bastille Day/Victor Hugo, then has a timeline of the French revolution with a blank copy for pupils to make notes on. There’s a parallel translation activity in French about the plot, which is differentiated with and without a word box, but this is the only activity in French. It introduces the characters and finishes with a quiz.
