A full lesson on expanding brackets using the grid method. I have been researching mathematical task design and this is my first attempt using the knowledge I have acquired so far. There is a ‘Do Now’ activity, step-by-step guidance, backward faded activities, lots of practice questions and an extension activity which looks at finding an expression for the area of rectangles.
